In 1985, Mr. Muhammad Tahir Lakhani moved to Dubai to start his business for having a significant involvement and keen interest in the ship recycling industry in his country. Mr. Lakhani was the one and only vessels’ cash buyer back then. He used to buy ships and sell them for removal in the recycling yards in the UAE.
For acquiring three former Adriatic Tankers of VLCC, he closed the biggest deal for ship demolition in 1996 in international waters and delivered them to Pakistani breakers.
Mr. Tahir Lakhani emerged as the leading businessman in 1997, and he was well regarded as the top “cash buyer” worldwide dealing in more than 100 vessels every year. He achieved British citizenship in 2009, but he never left Dubai to expand in volume and scale.
He moved to the UK just for the expansion of his business with his family in 1999. Eventually, he thought of giving his company a global platform and promoted his trade across the world. Mr. Lakhani has always done something great for the shipping industry and encouraged Dubai on an international scale. He became the leading businessman in the shipping industry across the world due to his endeavors.
